Raymond West is looking for a dynamic Accounting Manager to join our team!

 

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting staff which includes hiring, training, and mentoring.  The Accounting Manager monitors the volume of work and reallocates duties to ensure all aspects of the accounting department have sufficient coverage to ensure the company is accurately maintaining and reporting using accurate financial records.  In addition to supporting the CFO and VP of Finance in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department the Accounting Manager supports the team’s KPI’s and metrics while working on special projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities will vary with the specific position. Typical responsibilities are listed below. This list is not inclusive.

  • Supervise staff in an assigned area to include planning and assigning projects/tasks to staff, making hiring, separation, and disciplinary recommendations, and conducting performance evaluations. 
  • Ensure staff development and coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.
  • Provide leadership for assigned staff.
  • Manage employee’s timecard utilizing the company’s Time and Attendance system.  
  • Manage the operational activities within the Finance Department 
  • Develop, organize, implement, and oversee programs, policies, and procedures. 
  • Ensure achievement of Finance Department goals 
  • Render decisions with respect to key department issues impacting overall service and performance. 
  • Provide input to senior leadership for annual budgets. 
  • Direct and prepare reports for Finance Department Senior leadership.
  • Participate in Company or Department projects.  
  • Ensure employees and team are following all Company Policies 
  • Works closely with other departments and communicate with all levels of employees, customers, and Manufacturers both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates drive and initiative.
  • Maintains a professional attitude in all matters.
  • Correspond with Vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. 
  • Must be able to manage time efficiently.
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations and review.
  • Audit & reconcile various commissions.
  • Verification of job costing accuracy.
  • Calculate Accruals, Fixed Asset management, Financial Reporting.
  • Calculation and remittance of various taxes and license fees
  • Prepare month-end journal entries for financial statement reporting.
  • Liaison with outside audit firm(s)
  • Special accounting, financial or administrative projects and/or tasks as determined by CFO & VP of Finance
  • Prepare Prelim and Final Compdoc worksheets for both CN and NW. The Preliminary is used to prepare Gross Margin reports and the Final is used to update and balance the ControlBal and the P&L reports.
  • Approve outgoing wires to Enterprise, Raymond Leasing and Raymond Corp at Bank of the West.
  • Assist in the Year-End audit.
  • Assist in Sales Tax audits.
  • Assist in IRS audits.

  • Must be able to perform duties under minimal supervision. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and similar software

  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments.
  • Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the theory of accounting principles and an aptitude for working with financial and statistical data. 
  • Must have the ability to reconcile and maintain the integrity of the general ledger through analysis and research.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.   
  • Be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Possess strong business math skills and business acumen.
  • Present a clean, neat professional appearance.
  • Motivated to continuous self-development and training. 
  • Willing to assume more responsibility as required.

 

Education/Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience: Determined by position.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of increasingly more responsible administrative experience
  • 6-year minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Travel Requirement:

  • 10% (4 hours a week)
  • Must be able to be insured by Raymond West.

Pay Range:

  • The salary range for this position is $79,000 - $194,000. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.

Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
