About the position:

We’re looking for an Automation & Control Systems Engineer in Connected Manufacturing. Connected Manufacturing is responsible for driving Digital Transformation across all the company’s facilities. The team uses cutting-edge software tools to collect and interpret data and present it in an actionable form to those who can use it to improve processes across our company. As a member of the team, you will collaborate across departments and sites to help further your department’s goals. The team is currently spread across the company's two manufacturing sites, located in Greene, NY and Muscatine, IA. Your teammates cover multiple roles that allow the department to handle everything needed from data collection to data analytics and UI/UX. In this role you will:

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Ignition platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and industrial engineers, maintenance, and operations associates to integrate control systems with overall project requirements.
  • Program PLCs using ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text to control various processes and machinery.
  • Develop HMI/SCADA applications using Ignition platform for real-time monitoring and control of industrial processes.
  • Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning of control systems to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during system installation, startup, and operation.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to control systems and automation.
  • Ensure projects integrate with the company’s larger goals, long and short term.
  • Implement and maintain simple electrical control boxes, sensors, and other hardware to support projects on the floor.

 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree:
    • In applicable Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Industrial) program.
    • 3+ years of experience in Industrial Control systems.
  • Master's degree: 
    • In applicable Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Industrial) program.
    • 2+ years of experience in Industrial Control systems.
  • Willing to learn new things in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text.
  • Hands-on experience with Ignition platform for HMI/SCADA development and backend scripting.
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and Profibus.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, control panel design, and industrial automation standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

 

About the total compensation package:

 

Salary - $82,800 - $123,300 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Relocation – This position may qualify for relocation.
