About the position:

Are you interested in cutting-edge technology?  Do you enjoy solving complex problems and leading teams?  The Raymond Corporation is seeking to hire a Contracts and Alliances Manager to manage its contracting, strategy, and overall relationship with key development partners in the areas of automation, object detection, and other emerging technology sectors. 

 

The typical day for the Contracts and Alliances Manager may involve evaluating new technologies in the morning, negotiating a software licensing agreement over lunch, and solving logistics problems halfway across the world in the afternoon.  To do this, the successful candidate will need to effectively work with internal colleagues and external contacts in every business segment.  So excellent interpersonal skills are a must.

 

A strong working knowledge of contracts is also necessary.  A core responsibility of the Contracts and Alliances Manager is problem solving, but many of those solutions will be embodied in agreements.  Understanding how to read a contract, negotiate internally and externally, and structure deals are critical aspects of the position.

 

A good grasp of business operations, particularly with startups and technology companies, is desirable but can be learned after hire.  An ability to study and build understanding of relevant technologies is also necessary.  This is because The Raymond Corporation’s emerging technologies portfolio is always expanding, a reflection of Raymond’s commitment to innovation.

 

The Contracts and Alliances Manager must be a critical thinker, effective problem solver, and able to adapt on the fly.  Unexpected challenges will arise frequently.  Some problems will be difficult to solve and will involve managing many priorities.  Sometimes you will think a problem is solved, but a new wrinkle will require you to pivot.  The ability to adapt and successfully solve problems in real time is a hallmark of the position.

 

Most important: the role requires a team player.  No problem gets solved in a vacuum.  It truly takes a team.  The Contracts and Alliances Manager must be able to successfully work as part of a team and, in some instances, lead teams to ensure problems are solved in the best possible manner.

 

As a final note, travel will be required and the amount of travel will vary.  This is because some problems are best understood and solved in person.

 

About you:

  • A MBA or JD is preferred
  • Eight years of relevant experience
  • Excellent project management capabilities
  • Strong written communication skills

About the total compensation package:
Salary - $81,400 - $104,200 per year. Compensation depends on selected candidates' qualifications. 

Relocation -  This position may qualify for relocation.
