Credit Specialist - Kansas City, Missouri

Position Title: CREDIT SPECIALIST

Reports to: AR Manager

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Review status of delinquent accounts and initiate collection action by contacting each account. Maintain records of all contacts with delinquent account, advising corporate management when delinquent account resists collection. Involve sales representatives and department management in collection when needed. Monitor customer bankruptcy and class action claims.
2. Investigate and approve new accounts, determine credit limits and tax codes.
3. Complete and return audit request forms and credit reference forms for customers.
4. Monitor daily cash flow -- Line of credit, deposits, A/P check amounts to release. Complete monthly bank reconciliation.
5. Process daily warranty claims. Prepare monthly warranty and aged reports and quarterly Work in Process report.
6. Update and maintain tax certificates for required customers, entering data into EBS system.
7. Set up and monitor MasterCard, Visa and American Express.
8. Maintain building leases and various vendor contracts.
9. Various additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

10. Work with all departments and employees to insure quality of customer service.

Special Skills Needed:

Ability to interact with delinquent accounts, applying forceful diplomacy when applicable. Good computer skills. Extensive knowledge of accounting principles. Able to multi-task. Organized. Bondable

Position is: Salaried (Non-Exempt)

Education Required: High School Diploma. Associates Degree or equivalent. Accounting credits desirable

Experience Required: Extensive experience in accounting field. Collections experience important.

Good attendance, including a timely arrival each day, is an essential function of this position.
